JOB TITLE: Project Hydrologist / Flood Risk Engineer

WORKING HOURS: 37.5hrs (part-time working considered)

SYNOPSIS:

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We would expect candidates to have experience working for an engineering or environmental consultancy and have worked on a range of projects in the residential, commercial and industrial business sectors. Experience of working in the renewable, minerals and waste sectors is preferred but not essential.

It is anticipated applicants would have knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g. PPS25, TAN15 and SPP) and demonstrate a willingness to learn new and develop existing skills.

Duties and responsibilities would include:

• contributing to the production of flood risk assessments and SUDs design studies;

• develop (with guidance) drainage designs (conceptual and detailed);

• site visits and field work; and

• assist in the writing and preparation of environmental impact assessments.

It is expected that applicants would have experience of using some hydrological modelling tools, such as, WinDES, FEH, HEC-RAS, ISIS, TuFLOW etc.
