The main objectives of this role are to support the Sustainability Manager; comply with and keep up-to-date with contemporary management, standards, regulations and policies that will affect this position and also act as an internal point of contact on ethical compliance issues.

The following skills are essential to this position:

• Good relevant qualifications;

• Good understanding of global economic, ethical trading and sustainability issues, particularly within the food industry;

• Previous experience in ethical sourcing, HR, corporate responsibility, and/or sustainability;

• Good knowledge of Sedex, SMETA GSCP as well as H&S legislation and issues with an ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures;

• Demonstrated experience and ability in the management and control of day to day tasks and specific projects;

• Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office;

• Commitment and desire to learn and to broaden existing skills and capabilities through continuous professional development;

• Demonstrated research, conceptual thinking, analytical and problem solving skills;

The ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and level head when confronted with challenging circumstances is also essential.

Proficiency in a second language (particularly Spanish, Dutch or Afrikaans) is desirable
